Some of our readers may feel that we've been reporting too much crime. Every issue, it seems, has a crime story on the front page. Stories about robberies, assaults, rape, or a story about an ex-employee allegedly spying on women in a residence hall bathroom.
Dennis Kucinich, presidential hopeful for the Democratic party and current Ohio Representative, pushed articles of impeachment to the floor last week. He wants to impeach Dick Cheney and forced the House to vote on the resolution. Whether or not we agree with Kucinich, we can be proud to have a representative in the House who acts on his convictions.
Being a non-traditional student at the University of Akron, I remember a much different Akron than what we see now. Walking from the Polsky Building on High Street, to Kolbe Hall on campus brings back many memories of what life was once like in Akron. As my daily walk continues from class to class, I pass by the old train station and the memories of days when a passenger train used to run through Akron, taking people to numerous places throughout the country.
