Jermaine Reid received a first-hand look at the unpredictable world of professional sports this past year. Reid, a heavy anchor on the University of Akron's defensive line for three seasons, had a turbulent rookie season for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League from the very beginning.
The University of Akron men's and women's track and field teams dominated the field over the weekend, winning a combined 24 of 38 events as each claimed victory over Ashland, Kent State and Youngstown State at the Northeast Ohio Quad at Lee Jackson Field. The Akron Women's squad scored 240 points, followed by Ashland (157), Kent State (151) and Youngstown (56).
